Volunteering
Our long term vision is to open every day for young people as a dedicated youth centre after school and some evenings. We also have ambitious plans for our building to be used by the community during the day as a useful centre to hire, play or work.
To make it possible to achieve this vision for our young people and the community, we are always on the look out for new volunteers. You need no previous experience, qualification, or skills. We welcome anyone to come along and experience the youth club, and to see if it is right for them. (DBS check is required), email us, or fill in our Volunteer Application form.
Equally, if you just want to help out in another way, e.g. shopping for us, sorting stuff out, admin, tech support, painting etc. etc. give us a shout! We would love your support and involvement.
Finance
We've mentioned before that all our volunteers are just that, volunteers. Th club has significant running costs and renovation costs. From food, tuck, sports equipment, resources, toilet paper, hand sanitiser, etc..
We run on donations, grants and fundraising. Currently we have funds to run the youth club, but a time will come when we might not. Please see our 'Help Donate' page for more information.
Skills
At CYC we look to ensure that our young people are set up for life after education. We look to equip them with skills they may not have had access to before.
We look to host workshops, classes and much more.
Previously we have had drama workshops, pamper evenings, arts and crafts and in the summer we are looking at football coaching.
If you have a particular business, hobby or skills you would like to teach, please do not hesitate in contacting us.
We are open every Thursday evening. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to chat, pop in!
